Why convert PNG to JPG?
The most common reason: a photo ended up saved as PNG somewhere along the way — a screenshot of a photo, an export from an app that defaults to PNG — and it's noticeably heavier than it needs to be, since PNG has to work much harder than JPG to compress a photo without losing any detail. Converting to JPG with a reasonable quality setting usually shrinks it dramatically with no visible difference.
One thing to watch for: a transparent PNG background doesn't survive the trip to JPG — it gets filled in with white instead, since JPG has no way to store transparency. For an icon or graphic where that matters, PNG or WebP output would keep it intact; this converter is really built for the oversized-photo case above.
